Cambodia will indicate Trump for Nobel Peace Prize, says Premie
Pakistan said in June it would indicate Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize for his work to help resolve a conflict with India, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said last month that Trump nominated for the prize.
It was an appeal from Trump last week that broke a staggering efforts to end the heaviest fighting between Thailand and Cambodia in over a decade, leading to a negotiated cease in Malaysia on Monday, Reuters said.
Following the announcement of the truce, White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt said in an X post that Trump made it happen.
“Give him the Nobel Peace Prize!” She said.
At least 43 people were killed in the intense clashes, which lasted five days and moved more than 300,000 people on both sides of the border.
“We recognize his great efforts for peace,” said Chanthol, also Camboja’s main commercial negotiator, adding that his country was also grateful for a reduced rate of 19%.
