Ceará Assembly Approves Health allowances for deputies that can cost R $ 5.7 mi/year
With salaries of R $ 34,774.64, Ceará state deputies will receive an extra 15%-R $ 5.2 thousand-as a health. Active parliamentarians (active and licensed) and their alternates are entitled to the benefit. Payment is not automatic. Deputies need to apply for each legislature.
The Legislative Assembly of Ceará consists of 46 deputies. If all parliamentarians and alternates request the benefit, the monthly cost can reach R $ 478 thousand – or R $ 5.7 million per year. The value may increase considering that licensees can also request assistance.
Monthly money
The benefit was approved by the Board of Directors of the Legislative Assembly. The resolution that instituted the health allowance was published on Wednesday (26), in the State Official Gazette. The text comes into force this month.

According to the resolution, the money will be deposited monthly, in a single quota on the payroll.
As an indemnity nature is in nature, health allowance is not counted in income tax and, according to the resolution, “is not incorporated into Christmas allowance and gratification and other advantages.”
“The expenses arising from this resolution will be account of the budget appropriations of the Legislative Assembly of Ceará, upon budgetary availability,” says the text.
