Chamber installs CCJ with presidency of Deputy Paulo Azi (União-BA)
The House of Representatives installed on Wednesday, 19, the new management of the Constitution and Justice Commission (CCJ), with the presidency of Federal Deputy Paulo Azi (Union-BA). Formally, the parliamentarian was elected by 54 votes, but was the only candidate due to an agreement between party leaders settled on Tuesday, 18.

“I have the exact notion of honor of directing the work of this one that is considered by many to be the most important commission of this house, but at the same time I am aware of responsibility,” said Azi.
He continued: “Have some commitments I want to make with me with the ladies and parliamentary gentlemen: this president will not stop seeking efforts so that each member can perform their parliamentary activity to the highest fullness.”
According to Azi, it is necessary to pay special attention to the stories of the executive branch and hear “the voice of the streets”.
The deputy added that each parliamentarian will have “freedom”, but will be “charged” for attention and respect with colleagues. “I know that this commission, which has, regardless of its attributions, is the gateway to all the projects that are being processed in the Legislative Power. I know that the Commission must acquire protagonism,” he said.
Azi also stated that the privilege to appreciate urgent requirements “limits the debate and improvement of the various projects that are being processed in the House” and recalled the promise of the mayor, Hugo Motta (Republicans-PB), that the committees become the environment of improving legislative matters.
