China increases diplomatic range while USA suffer reduction
The 91 pages of Democrats has listed ways in which China is expanding its influence.
He lists dozens of cases where the committee researchers found that China intervened, while the US eliminated or reduced international programs, vaccine financing and food supply to infrastructure development.
In Africa, for example, when the US ended its food assistance programs, China donated $ 2 million in rice to Uganda in March. In May, after the US ends a $ 37 million donation to HIV/AIDS in Zambia, China said it would help the African country fight HIV/AIDS, including donating 500,000 HIV fast test kits and planning more meetings to discuss its continuous partnership on the subject.
In Southeast Asia, Chinese President Xi Jinping embarked on a trip to meet leaders from Vietnam, Cambodia and Malaysia, according to the report. The trip resulted in an agreement in Vietnam for rail connections, 37 cooperation agreements in Cambodia in sectors such as energy, education and infrastructure, and technical and manufacturing exchanges in Malaysia.
In Latin America, China hosted the “China-América Latin and Caribbean Forum” in May and announced that it would provide a $ 9 billion credit line, as well as additional investments in infrastructure for the region.
