Cid tells the PF that Bolsonaro defense sought his family to prevent denunciation

Lieutenant Colonel Mauro Cid, a former presidential order of orders from the Jair Bolsonaro government, denied in a statement to the Federal Police to have talked to lawyer Eduardo Kuntz through an Instagram profile on behalf of “Gabriela” (@gabrielar702). He also accused Bolsonaro’s defense of trying to obtain information from his denunciation agreement and obstruct the scammers’ investigation.

Asked about the dialogues, delivered by the lawyer to the Supreme Court, Cid said that it was not the one who sent the messages and that someone would have recorded the conversations, “without their science and authorization,” and passed on the audios to Kuntz. Lieutenant Colonel claims that he has not created the profile and does not know who the Instagram account is.

The testimony was provided last Tuesday, 24, but the term of statements was only made available on Thursday.

In dialogues attributed to Lieutenant Colonel, he criticizes-in audio and in writing-to Minister Alexandre de Moraes of the Supreme Court (STF), to delegate Fabio Shoor, who conducts sensitive investigations against Bolsonaro, including the coup survey, and implies that the information provided in his award-winning collaboration agreement (listens to all dialogues).

Based on the conversations, the lawyer called for the cancellation of the award-winning collaboration agreement of the former orders. Kuntz defends Colonel Marcelo Câmara in the inquiry of the coup. The criminalist claims that the messages prove that there was no voluntarity in the denunciation.

In his testimony, Mauro Cid claimed that his family was sought not only by Eduardo Kuntz, but also by Paulo Amador da Cunha Bueno, Bolsonaro’s lawyer, and Fábio Wajngarten, who advised the former president, at events in the Hipic of Sao Paulo and on social networks.

“Asked if anyone tried to entice/persuade/convince the declarant and/or family members to change their technical defense, he replied, as the answers already presented; that Fábio Wajngarten, Paulo Bueno and Luiz Eduardo de Almeida Santos Kuntz tried to convince family members of the declarant to change technical defense,” says the testimony.

Wanted, Cunha Bueno did not speak up. Kuntz denies having tried to interfere with the denunciation. Wajngarten, who is also a lawyer, states that “the criminalization of law is the smoke curtain to try to hide the express lack of voluntarity of defendant whistleblower Mauro Cid and the consequent nullity of collaboration.”

Moraes determined that Cunha Bueno and Wajngarten give testimony to the Federal Police.

According to Lieutenant Colonel, Kuntz and Wajngarten “were tempted approaching” from him through his minor daughter, who participates in equestrian competitions. Attempts to contact the young woman on WhatsApp and Instagram would have been “constant” between August 2023 and early 2024, according to Mauro Cid.

“He believes that Luiz Eduardo de Almeida Santos Kuntz established this contact to obtain information about the collaboration agreement signed by the declarant and thus obstruct the investigations in progress, taking advantage of the innocence of his underage daughter,” said Mauro Cid.

Lieutenant Colonel’s mother would also have been personally approached by the lawyer, according to Mauro Cid.

The former ordinant of orders told PF that his wife was also sought by Wajngarten and that the former advisor tried to convince her to exchange Lieutenant Colonel’s lawyers. According to Mauro Cid, there were several calls to obtain information from the collaboration agreement, “as a way to interfere with in -progress investigations.”
