Coca-Cola recalls 28 million bottles that may be contaminated
“We do not recommend the consumption of potentially affected products due to a possible health risk,” said Coca-Cola. “None of the other packaging or brands are affected by this recall.”
Reimbursement and control in supermarkets
According to the company, consumers in Austria will be reimbursed for the affected products, without having to present a tax coupon. “We regret the incident and apologize for any inconvenience caused,” the statement continued.
According to Coca-Cola, the batches affected by the recall were not entirely sold and many bottles could still be on store shelves.
Vienna Markets Department spokesman Alexander Hengl said his agency and 80 other inspectors were already monitoring the removal of the products from the market, and that the recall was expected to be completed within a few weeks. Author: Richard Connor
