Compensation for IR exemption will have to be “well digested,” says Baleia Rossi

The MDB deputy and national president, whale Rossi, believes that a possible rise tax raise to compensate for income tax exemption for those who earn up to $ 5,000 “have to be well digested.” He was in a panel of the Outliers event, from Infomoneyin São Paulo this Thursday (6).

“Nothing that means increase, even for certain sectors, is well digested,” said Rossi. Its assessment is that the new presidents of the Legislative Houses, Hugo Motta (Republicans) and David Alcolumbre (Union Brazil) and the main leaders of Congress, have a feeling of seeking compensation.

For Rossi, Congress has taken on a more reformist stance since the government of former President Michel Temer and will be willing to vote the exemption project as long as compensation there are.

“Of course, President Lula put as a campaign proposal even increasing the exemption of income tax to $ 5,000, which will be the proposal of the Ministry of Finance,” he said. “What we cannot lose is the hand in fiscal balance.”
