Copom minutes should have less aggressive tone after tariff, says economist
I think the market is very aligned with the expectation of 0.5% and maintenance of the rate in the United States. We have been observing this pricing since the last meeting of the two organs in March, little has changed in numerical expectation, but the conjunctural issues and the contents of the minutes ended up changing a lot.
When we take some purchase rates from buying managers, some not yet macro level indicators, we can observe retailers paying more to suppliers and suppliers paying more via imported products.
So what we expect is little change in the numerical issue, the forecast is practically the same, but the change in communication must be the most relevant aspect.
