Since returning to the White House in January, Trump, who during his first term (2017-2021) has reinforced the commercial embargo that Wahington has applied Cuba since 1962, has bet on a maximum pressure policy on the island, which has been under a single party communist regime for over six decades.
On the same day of his inauguration, the US President reversed the decision of his predecessor, Democrat Joe Biden, to remove Cuba from the forbidden list of terrorism sponsors, which makes trade and foreign investment difficult on the island.
In May, Washington again included Cuba in another category, that of countries that do not fully cooperate with their anti -terrorist struggle.
