Datafolha: Lula government maintains a 40% failure and 29% approval after tariff

President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva’s management continues with a 40% failure and approval of 29%, according to Datafolha survey released recently. The survey was made with 2,004 voters from 130 cities around the country, between July 29 and 30, during the climbing tensions in the trade war with US President Donald Trump.

There was expectation of the image gains for the petista, but there was maintenance of the assessment of “bad/bad”, while the “great/good” oscillated from 28% to 29% in the previous round of the research. Government assessment as “regular” varied from 31% to 29% and 1% of respondents did not give opinion.

The survey shows that Lula follows with greater disapproval with the lower middle class electorate (62%), richer (57%), evangelical (55%), southern (51%), more instructed (49%) and aged between 35 and 44 years (48%).

According to Datafolha, at this point in his term, former President Jair Bolsonaro had worse rates. After two years and eight months of government, Bolsonaro had 24% approval and 51% disapproval.

The survey released today also shows that 50% of voters disapprove of Lula’s work in the federal executive and 46% approve in statistical stability compared to the June survey according to Datafolha.
