Decree appointing Galípolo and BC directors is published in the ‘Official Gazette’
The President of the Republic, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, appointed Gabriel Galípolo to hold the position of president of the Central Bank, from January 1, 2025, with a mandate until December 31, 2028. The Appointment Decree is published in the edition this Tuesday, 31st, of Official Gazette of the Union (DOU). Galípolo assumes the position in the vacancy resulting from the end of Roberto Campos Neto’s term.
THE Official Gazette also brings the appointments of Izabela Moreira Correa to the Relationship, Citizenship and Conduct Supervision Directorate; from Nilton David to the Monetary Policy Department; and Gilneu Vivan for the Financial System Regulation Directorate.
Izabela and Gilneu were appointed to hold the positions from January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2028.

In addition to Galípolo, Lula also appointed three new directors for the monetary authority
Nilton David will hold his mandate until February 28, 2027, as he will occupy the vacancy resulting from Galípolo’s appointment as president of the BC and will therefore complete the former director’s term.
The BC informed, through its press office, that there is no planned inauguration ceremony for future president Gabriel Galípolo and the three new directors.
