Eduardo Bolsonaro accuses Tarcisio of abandoning Bolsonaro after US tariff
Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP) sent a blunt message to his father, former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL), after the United States imposed 50% tariffs on Brazilian products: “Tarcisio never helped you in the STF. It has always been a cross-arm seeing you f* and warming up to 2026.”
The criticism of the governor of São Paulo, Tarcisio de Freitas (Republicans-SP), emerged amid Eduardo’s effort to convince Donald Trump’s government to sanction Brazilian authorities, including ministers of the Supreme Court, on the grounds that his father faced political persecution.
According to the deputy, Tarcisio’s movement with American diplomacy only reinforced the perception that he could replace Bolsonaro as the right name in 2026, reducing US pressure on Brazil.

Eduardo reported that he had to “dribble” in the US the image that “Tarcisio = Bolsonaro”, reinforcing that only he and commentator Paulo Figueiredo had direct access to the White House.
For Eduardo, if Tarcisio were launched a presidential candidate in 2026, this would not “help solve the problem”, in reference to the possibility of conviction against Jair Bolsonaro. The deputy wanted to ensure that the US external support was directly linked to the former president’s amnesty and defense, not a political substitute.
The phrase exposes a clear internal dispute: Eduardo seeks to reinforce political control of the Bolsonaro family with American diplomacy, while signaling that allies like Tarcisio represent an obstacle that needs to be neutralized.
