Eduardo Bolsonaro says he will not resign the mandate of deputy
Federal Deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP) said on Sunday (20) that he does not intend to resign his term. In March this year, the parliamentarian, the son of former President Jair Bolsonaro, licensed office and went to live in the United States, claiming political persecution.
According to the Internal Regulations of the Chamber of Deputies, the 120 -day license ends today, and the deputy may have the term revoked if he does not return to Brazil. During a live on social networks, Eduardo said he intends to “take his mandate” for another three months.

In the Federal Supreme Court (STF), Eduardo is investigated for alleged performance with the US government to promote retaliation against Brazil and Ministers of the Court, and try to block the progress of criminal prosecution on the coup plot, in which his father is defendant.
In the broadcast, the deputy criticized Minister Alexandre de Moraes and mocked the decision of the Trump government that suspended visas from STF ministers. He also commented on Moraes’s decision that said Eduardo “intensified illicit conduct” and determined the inclusion of recent interviews and posts on social networks in the investigation.
“The guy who says he is offended (Moraes) joins everything in the process he has opened. The guy who will judge me will see what I do on social networks. So, for you from the Federal Police who are seeing me, a big hug.
Eduardo also defended amnesty to Jair Bolsonaro and said he was “willing to go to the last consequences.”
“It is to understand that there will be no retreat. It is not playing to see if it works later, find a middle ground. I am not here for that,” he added.
On Friday (18), in the same inquiry in which Eduardo is investigated, Jair Bolsonaro was the target of operation of the Federal Police, was forced to wear an electronic anklet and forbidden to leave home between 19h and 6h.
The measures were determined by Minister Alexandre de Moraes after the Attorney General’s Office alleged a risk of escape from the former president, defendant in the criminal action on the attempted coup d’état in 2022, with judgment scheduled for September at the Supreme Court.
