Election of the PT in Bahia has a complaint of dead as voters and should go to court
Members of the Bahia PT asked for challenge the party’s internal election after identifying dead that voted in two cities. In a public note, the PT of Camaçari says that the errors were due due to “rubricas large enough that have taken two or three lines from the list,” refutes “any opposing narrative that tries to tarnish the electoral process” and that will trigger the legal body to take appropriate measures (see the full note below).
Wagner says that any question about the electoral process “must be treated directly with the state directory.”
The internal dispute in the PT was marked by episodes of tension, with allegations of mass affiliations, accusations of coup and even judicialization. In 2017, the PT annulled a vote in 30 cities in São Paulo on suspicions of fraud, including the counting of deceased affiliate votes.
“This state direction of the PT that has no leading autonomy, submissive to offices, to the detriment of the party’s internal diversity, approved proven fraudulent elections in several cities, staining the image of our party and submitting its internal democracy to a shame,” says a note from the Forte Party.
The Forte Party plate, headed by Jonas Paulo, is part of the predominant trend in the PT: building a new Brazil (CNB). In contrast to the result in the main states, the CNB was defeated by Tássio Brito, from the left socialist left trend (EPS), sponsored by Wagner.
Tássio won with 73% of the votes in the PT election in Bahia, in which they voted about 42,000 affiliates. The Forte Party plate had about 20% of the votes.
The result served to consecrate Wagner as the PT’s main leadership in the state, driving away the Minister of the Minister’s political group, Rui Costa, who chose not to support another candidate to avoid political defeat.
“The message that the current state and the next direction, with this ghostly majority, passes to the PT is clear: in the party’s internal elections, even the dead can vote-and this is considered ‘normal’. The PED (direct election process) 2025 in Bahia has become an electoral all-valley scavenger hunt,” says the internal note of the Forte Party.
The plate denounces a case of one of the dead voters such as “revolting” – unionist Crispim Carvalho da Hora, killed in 2016, appears as one of the people who signed and registered a vote in the election in Bahia.
“His alleged participation as a voter is not only an electoral fraud, but a disrespect for his memory and the pain of his family and several other companions who have helped to create the PT and the union movement in the state,” members of the Forte Party plate in the request for challenge of the election say.
In addition to the dead votes in Camaçari and Barro Preto, the plate denouncing, among other cases, the existence of 91 pages of duplicate voting and falsification in vote in Itabuna (BA).
As Estadão showed, the internal elections in Bahia have been marked by judicialization. In the same Itabuna, petista Nina Germano, candidate for the acronym municipal directory, filed a lawsuit against the party after having her candidacy annulled by default.
On Thursday, 3, the Bahia Court granted a favorable decision to the candidate, determining the maintenance of his name in the dispute and imposing a daily fine of $ 15,000 in case of non-compliance.
In Feira de Santana, another candidate for the municipal presidency also called the court for the same reason, seeking to guarantee his participation in the election.
In Bahia, the PT is considering launching a pure blood plate, indicating two senators (Wagner and Rui), as well as the name to the state government. Since 2002 the acronym has not lost a presidential election in Bahia and has been unbeaten in the dispute by the state government since 2006.

The last process of direct election (PED) of the workers’ parties, which took place on July 6, at the Camaçari Teachers Union was marked by great mobilization and participation of our militancy for democratic choice of new direction to the party.
Guided by the Internal Regulations, the national guidelines and the rules that regulate the PED, the entire supervisory process was duly respected by the Electoral Organizing Committee (COE). Given the rain and agglomeration, due to intense mobilization and participation of affiliates, the PED was also marked by riots, delaying the queues and exposing the older people the intense waiting.
Linked waiting, crowding, rush and poor environmental lighting, situations are justifiable where non -intensional way there were errors in signing the voting lists, having persons signed at the top or bottom of the line of their name, as well as high enough rubric errors that had taken two or three lines from the list. It is important to emphasize that such lists are made and issued exclusively by the party’s national direction, and that in our view, they urgently need to be updated.
We understand that the intense mobilization of the PED, the more than 3,000 affiliates that were voting and the real intention of the electoral process, which there was only one inscribed plate. We refute any opposing narrative that tries to tarnish our electoral process, using white plate, ally of the former mayor of Camaçari, who tried to delegitimize our party and our electoral process, including propagating fakenews, slander and defamation. For this reason, we will activate our legal body to take appropriate measures.
