Fall in popularity will make Lula ‘meditate ten times’ about reelection, says Temer
Former President Michel Temer (MDB) said that the fall in the popularity of President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT) can lead him to rethink a possible candidacy for reelection. According to Temer, Lula lost the practice of dialogue with the National Congress that marked his previous mandates.
“I think President Lula has not done one thing he did a lot in the first two terms. He dialogue a lot with the National Congress. According to point, his popularity has fallen, no doubt. What I think will make him meditate two or three times to be a presidential candidate for the fourth time,” he said. The statement was given to the free channel program, from Band, that airs this Sunday (11).
Temer also said he could see possibility that in 2026, the right launches a unique presidential candidacy. “I see that in the conversations I had with some governors, they are very willing to such a thing. If five candidates come out of this side and a single candidate on the other side, of course the candidate on the other side will have an extraordinary advantage,” he said.
