Federal Highway Police will have 400 agents escorting delegations to the G20 summit
The Federal Highway Police (PRF) will employ 400 motorcyclists to escort heads of state during the G20 summit. The meeting will be held on the 18th and 19th, in Rio de Janeiro (RJ).
According to the PRF spokesperson in Rio, José Hélio, in addition to the agents responsible for the escorts, there will be “dozens of police officers also working in pre-hospital care teams and shock force teams and ready for use on highways in case of of manifestations of any complications that may occur.”
According to him, the biggest challenge of escort work will be the intense traffic in the city of Rio. “We always have very intense traffic, with some busy times, which is a greater challenge for the movement of these escorts. But the police are doing daily training and recognizing these routes and also alternative paths to avoid any unforeseen events”, he states.
