The PL pre-candidate for the Presidency of the Republic, Flávio Bolsonaro, said this Saturday (9) that he continues to defend the end of presidential re-election, but reinforced that the four-year term is “very short”. He also indicated that, if he is elected president of the Republic, he will continue to endorse the Proposed Amendment to the Constitution (PEC) to end the possibility of a second presidential term.

Yesterday, Flávio Bolsonaro mentioned in a speech the possibility that, if elected, his government would last eight years. Today, he said it was necessary to clarify his speech and reinforced that he defends the end of re-election. “I don’t know what the legislative process will be like, if Congress will end reelection and keep it four years, if Congress will end reelection and extend the mandate to five years,” he declared.

Flávio also commented on the Federal Police (PF) operation against senator Ciro Nogueira (PI), who was the target of a search and seizure warrant from the Federal Police. “He is accused of serious crimes that are being investigated,” he said. Flávio Bolsonaro participates in a Liberal Party (PL) pre-candidacy event in Santa Catarina (SC). He spoke to the press during the event.

Flávio Bolsonaro also said he knew “how to play the game of Power in Brasília” and also spoke about reducing expenses. He indicated the management of the current government of Santa Catarina as a reference for the adoption of actions at the federal level, if elected.

“I know how to play the game of power in Brasília, I know the Legislative Branch, I know the Judiciary Branch, I know where spending needs to be cut, I know how we organize this country”, he stated.

Flávio also declared that former president Jair Bolsonaro’s “mission” is not over yet and even mentioned that his father “will climb the Planalto ramp” in 2027. Regarding the Lula government, the candidate assessed that the Workers’ Party (PT) will remain in “insignificance” from next year onwards.

The topic of public safety was also discussed. The former president’s son defended changing the Constitution to reduce the age of criminal responsibility and, earlier, defended the classification of criminal organizations in Brazil as terrorist groups.
