Flávio tells Eduardo to reduce friction with members of the right, say allies

Lula's coalition calls for inclusion of Flávio and Eduardo Bolsonaro in action in the TSE

Allies of senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) claim that the parliamentarian, at the request of former president Jair Bolsonaro, asked his brother Eduardo Bolsonaro to reduce friction with names on the right. The two met this weekend, in Washington, where Eduardo is living.

Bolsonaro family interlocutors say that one of Flávio’s tasks on the trip to the United States was precisely to ask his brother to reduce his tone on social networks and in public statements. When contacted by the report, Flávio and Eduardo Bolsonaro did not speak out. Blogger Paulo Figueiredo, who also participated in the conversation, stated that he did not receive any type of guidance.

Eduardo’s recent criticisms of the president of the PP, Ciro Nogueira, senator Tereza Cristina (PP-MS) and governors tipped to run for Planalto irritated party leaders and accentuated discomfort on the right.

Governor from Rio Grande do Sul, affiliated this year with Kassab’s party, participated in a lunch with businesspeople in São Paulo this Monday

The episode occurs amid attempts by different conservative parties to reposition themselves for the 2026 elections. In the PL, which is trying to consolidate itself as the main party in the field, discomfort with the deputy’s digital offensive and the fear that he will increase the isolation of Bolsonarism is growing. The Republicans and the PP are competing for space in the conservative electorate and are looking for viable names to represent the post-Bolsonaro right. The favorite is Governor Tarcísio de Freitas, who has said he will run for re-election in São Paulo.

Since being placed under house arrest in August, Jair Bolsonaro has distanced himself from direct coordination, but continues to interfere in the group’s decisions through his children. Flávio, with better influence in Congress, has acted as a political mediator for the family. He advocates that the group prioritize unity issues — such as rebuilding bridges with the Centrão and reorganizing the parliamentary base — rather than new fronts of confrontation.

During the conversation in the United States, the brothers also discussed the recent rapprochement between Lula and Donald Trump. Flávio wanted to hear his brother read about the meetings between the two presidents and members of their governments. Eduardo, according to reports, minimized the importance of the relationship and stated that the American right remains close to the Bolsonarist group.
