The day before, authorities had confirmed two deaths in Pattani province and two others in Songkhla province, following the first death recorded in the Narathiwat region on Thursday.
Images released by local media show residents immersed up to their chests and struggling through muddy waters and submerged cars.
Two hospitals in Pattani province have suspended their activities to preserve infrastructure and equipment, the Thai government said in a statement published on its website.
The government announced the sending of rescue teams to the affected areas and aid of US$1.7 million (R$9.3 million) for each affected province.
