Fortaleza councilor records video mistreating pig to provoke Evandro Leitão

The councilor of Fortaleza (CE) Inspector Alberto (PL) recorded a video mistreating a pig to provoke Evandro Leitão (PT)candidate for mayor of the capital of Ceará.

The recording was denounced, in a post, by the Minister of Education, Camilo Santana (PT), who is a PT leader in the state.

“You go to the pot, come. You go, you go to the pan. Come on, hang in there. (Evandro) Piglet, you bastard, you’re going to the pot on the 27th. Wait for me, you’ll see me there. I’m going to eat you really roasted, you piece of shit”, said Alberto. In the image, he appears pulling the animal by its ears.

“Another absurdity from the Fortaleza councilor, André’s supporter. Another criminal act. Violence, no!”, stated the Minister of Education in a post made this Sunday afternoon (27).

The original post, made by Alberto, was deleted from the councilor’s social networks. Estadão contacted the parliamentarian, but had not received any response until the publication of this text. The space is open for demonstrations.

According to the newspaper Northeast Diarythe Environmental Protection Department (DPMA), a police unit linked to the Civil Police of Ceará (PC-CE), opened an investigation to determine whether Alberto committed mistreatment of the animal. This is not Alberto’s first attack against Leitão. On Wednesday (23), the councilor published another video stating that the PT candidate should “prepare the coffin”. The PT member registered a police report and the case is being investigated by the 2nd Police District (DP) of the PC-CE as a crime of threat.

“Leitão, f… You go to the barbecue. Prepare your coffin, bum”, said Alberto, while being filmed. The recording was published in the stories (a publication that disappears within 24 hours) of the councilor’s Instagram profile and is no longer available. To Estadão, the parliamentarian said he got confused with the words and, instead of “coffin”, he should have said “coal”.

In 2021, Alberto was ordered to pay R$5,000 for shooting a photo of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) with a pistol. Alberto was elected for his second term as councilor on the 6th, after winning 7,913 votes (0.57% of valid votes). The politician’s page at the Fortaleza City Council says that his image is “linked” to federal deputy André Fernandes (PL), who is running in the second round against Leitão this Sunday, the 27th.

The website also highlights that the flags of his mandate are aligned with the positions of former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL).

According to the country’s main research institutes, the dispute in Fortaleza is one of the most fierce in the country, with uncertainty over who will be elected this Sunday. On this day of the second round, there will be no exit polls in the capital of Ceará.
