Frias responds to Dino on social media and says he will clarify his trip abroad

Federal deputy Mário Frias (PL-SP) stated this Thursday, 21st, that he intends to provide clarifications to the minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) Flávio Dino about traveling abroad since May 12th. Dino ordered the Chamber of Deputies to provide details about the parliamentarian’s travel to Bahrain and the United States.

In a publication on X, Frias stated that he is on an official mission. “Dear Minister Flávio Dino, I heard from the press that you would like some information about me. I am on an official agenda, with the knowledge of my president Hugo Motta. I will arrive in Brazil on May 25th, making myself available to Your Excellency, including a live meeting, which will be a great opportunity to provide all the clarifications you wish”, he wrote.

The case is analyzed by the Supreme Court amid difficulties faced by court officials in locating Frias in an investigation linked to the financing of the film “Dark Horse”, about the political trajectory of former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL). The deputy acts as executive producer of the film.

Flávio Dino is responsible at the STF for the process that investigates the sending of R$2 million in parliamentary amendments by Mário Frias to an NGO owned by Karina Ferreira da Gama, owner of the production company Go Up Entertainment, responsible for recording the work. The justification for the amendments points to the financing of two social projects.

On Wednesday, the 20th, the Minister of the Court asked the Chamber to send information about the deputy’s functional situation, including travel authorization, period of stay outside the country, travel costs and any payments related to the mission.

Frias was in Bahrain between May 12th and 18th. After that, he went to Dallas, in the USA. He claimed to have agendas at the invitation of the Yes Brazil USA movement.

Mário Frias is involved in the controversy surrounding the financing of the film about the former president by banker Daniel Vorcaro, from Banco Master. Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) appears in audio demanding payments from Vorcaro to carry out the production.

According to a report on the website Intercept Brazilthere were also exchanges of messages between Vorcaro and Mário Frias, which show the federal deputy’s thanks to the banker.

“Just thank you, my brother. It’s…we’re going to touch the hearts of a lot of people and it’s going to be very important for our country, okay? It’s time to tell you how things are going, okay?”, said Frias.

When Flávio’s audio was released by Interceptthe deputy published a note denying that there was “any cent” from Vorcaro in financing the project. After the senator confirmed that he had asked for money from the owner of Master and confirmed that at least part of the resource had been sent, Mario Frias went back and changed the version.

“When I previously stated that there is not ‘a penny from Master’ in the film, I was referring to the fact that Daniel Vorcaro is not and has never been a signatory to a legal relationship, just as Banco Master never appeared as an investing company. Our legal relationship was signed with Entre, a separate legal entity”, he stated.
