“Mayor Fuad Noman, by decision of his medical team, will remain at Mater Dei Hospital to carry out additional examinations. His general condition, according to the head of the medical team, dr. Enaldo Melo de Lima, is stable”, informs the medical bulletin.

Re-elected in BH
With 100% of the ballot boxes counted, Fuad Noman obtained 670,574 votes in the second round of elections in the capital of Minas Gerais, equivalent to 53.73% of valid votes (that is, disregarding blank and invalid votes). His opponent, state representative Bruno Engler (PL)received 577,537 votes (46.27%), according to data from the Superior Electoral Court (TSE).
Heir to the position held by Alexandre Kalil (currently with the Republicans), who left city hall to run for state government in 2022, Noman began the race for re-election as a name not well known to voters in the capital of Minas Gerais.
Throughout the campaign, he worked on his image, grew in the polls and overtook names that came to the fore in the race, such as television presenter and state deputy Mauro Tramonte (Republicans).
In the second round, Fuad had the support of left-wing politicians, in a movement that had already begun in the final stretch of the first round. Engler, who finished the October 6 vote in the lead, received endorsements from former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) and governor Romeu Zema (Novo).
The re-elected mayor is 77 years old, is a writer, economist and was a career public servant at the Central Bank. He was also part of the government of former president Fernando Henrique Cardoso (PSDB), as executive secretary of the Civil House, and of Minas Gerais, as secretary of Finance and Transport.
