Haddad again appeals for approval of project on stubborn debtor
The Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad, stated this Friday that among the different measures aimed at public security that are being processed in the National Congress, the Legislature needs to pay special attention to the project on persistent debtors.
‘It has already voted unanimously in the Senate. All that remains is for the Chamber to give the final word’, he said in an interview with journalists at an event hosted by the Ministry of Education. ‘All criminals need to launder money and use formal means…the persistent debtor law inhibits this practice and prevents the criminal from laundering the money and irrigating organized crime again.’
Haddad stated that he has spoken with the president of the House, deputy Hugo Motta (Republicanos-PB), and hopes that he becomes aware of the issue.
