Haddad announces extraordinary credit of $ 4 billion to unlock the Safra plan

Finance Minister Fernando Haddad announced on Friday (21) the release of an extraordinary credit of $ 4 billion to unlock the subsidized credit lines of the crop plan, which had been suspended by the National Treasury. The stoppage occurred due to the non -approval of the 2025 Annual Budget Law (LOA) by Congress.

Haddad emphasized that, despite being an extraordinary credit, the measure is within the limits of the tax framework. “It is as if it have been approved within the budget. There is no fiscal impact, ”he said.

According to the minister, the decision was made in the face of the delay in the approval of the budget and the need to resume immediate financing. “We couldn’t wait for Loa’s approval at the pace they are in,” he said.

The measure was supported by the Federal Court of Audit (TCU), which, according to Haddad, authorized the operation. In the morning, he had sought the agency to ensure the legality of the release of resources.

The suspension of credit lines had generated concern in the agricultural sector, as the announcement occurs at a critical time for production. Brazilian farmers are in the planting period of the second corn crop, soybean harvest and the beginning of rice harvest. In other cultures, such as coffee, producers perform cultural treatment.

The Ministry of Finance stressed that the Pronaf (National Program for the Strengthening of Family Farming), aimed at small farmers, continues to operate normally.
