The Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad, stated this Friday, the 27th, that the Central Bank is reviewing the security standards of the financial system, specifically aiming to avoid new events similar to the Banco Master scandal.

In November 2025, the monetary authority decreed the Master extrajudicial liquidation, following a serious liquidity crisis and the significant compromise of the bank’s economic and financial situation, among other findings.

At the beginning of February, the BC’s director of regulation, Gilneu Vivan, had already indicated that the review of the Credit Guarantee Fund (FGC) rules should be on the monetary authority’s agenda for this year.

In addition to the FGC, the BC must also include on the agenda the definition of standards for the distribution of securities and the discussion on transparency of intermediary remuneration. Haddad participates in an interview with Flow News.
