Haddad says he knows Lira’s report about IR, but will not announce: ‘Unmold’
Finance Minister Fernando Haddad said he knows the terms of the report on the project that expands the income tax exemption for those who earn up to R $ 5,000, in charge of Deputy Arthur Lira (PP-AL), but would no use their content to journalists. “I see how unkindness to announce the rapporteur’s own work,” he argued. “I don’t want to advance because it is unhealthy. I know the terms, but I won’t advance to him, because he is the rapporteur. It is very inelegant for me to talk about an ad that is up to him,” he reinforced at another time.
Haddad was only compliments to the former mayor, saying that Alagoas has maintained a “very high level” dialogue with the Secretariat of Economic Reforms, and Secretary Marcos Pinto. “Marcos has told me that conversations are thriving at a very high level, with technical work, with work for Brazil. And I have reason to imagine that we are close, that we will come to a good report,” he predicted.
According to the minister, Lira has been transparent about the negotiations that were made to reach an understanding, but considers it difficult to dig a date for the publication of the text. “These days are stopped, so, in fact, the time he understands as convenient, he will present. The important thing is to present a good report, a report that can be defended before public opinion, who seeks tax justice. We are in a very unfair country. So, when starting to correct this great injustice, I think we are on a good way,” he said.
Haddad made the statements to journalists at the Fairmont Hotel in Rio, where he is about to attend the financial meeting of BRICS and Novo Development Bank (NDB). Earlier, Estadão/Broadcast noted that the deputy closed the sketch of the text that will be presented to the Special Commission in the House. According to the rapporteur, the theme was treated with Haddad.
