Haiti lives another wave of violence and USA closes embassy after shots
The United States announced on Monday that they closed their embassy in Haiti and confined employees inside the enclosure due to the exchange of fire near Porto Prince, the capital of the Caribbean country.
The poorest country in Latin America and the Caribbean is immersed in a political crisis and a wave of violence by armed groups that an international security mission to support Kenya tries to contain.
“US government staff suspended all official displacements outside the embassy complex,” the state department said on a warning message on social network X.
