House Commission approves Anti-MST project to create “invaders registration”

The Constitution and Justice Commission (CCJ) of the Chamber of Deputies approved, on Wednesday, 1st, the bill entitled “National Register of Invaders”, which targets the movement of landless rural workers (MST). The proposal determines the creation of a national list with the names of people involved in land invasions.

Authored by Federal Deputy Rodolfo Nogueira (PL-MS), the ruralist bench, and reported by Deputy Bia Kicis (PL-DF), the text was approved by 37 votes in favor and 15 opposites. With this, the bill can follow directly for analysis in the Federal Senate.

18 deputies did not vote for the exemption of going up to R $ 5,000; See who was absent

Proposal, Lula’s priority in the election year, provides partial discount up to R $ 7,350 and increases high income taxation

Proposal must be approved later this year to take effect in 2026

However, it is still possible to appeal, which may occur if the base of President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT) meets the necessary number of signatures to bring the project to the plenary of the House.

THE Estadão He sought the MST, but, so far, there was no official demonstration about the approval of the project in the commission.

The project provides for the exposure of personal data of those involved in the invasions and establishes that it will be up to the public security authorities to carry out the registration.

“The public security authorities will be competed in the occurrence to register the invaders, who will have their respective criminal records and occurrence report also attached to the registration,” says the text.

The rapporteur argues that the registration would serve so that the authorities can “identify behavioral patterns and eventually implement preventive measures to avoid future invasions.”

The proposal, however, generated criticism in the plenary. Federal Deputy Erika Kokay (PT-DF) stated that the intention is to criminalize social movements. “They want to criminalize social movements, criminalize those who seek to democratize the use of their own land,” he said.
