How is Baluchistan, land ‘without law’ and violent where train was kidnapped
A large -scale operation of the country’s security forces ended the kidnapping. The hostages were released after more than 30 hours of clashes. Part of the hostages was released on Tuesday, and the rest the next day. 21 hostages died, including the driver, according to military spokesman Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry. All 33 hijackers were killed in the operation.
The attack was claimed by the Baluchistan Liberation Army (BLA), the region’s main separatist group. BLA members exploded an excerpt from the railroad, spread bombers among the passengers, and threatened to hostage unless authorities had a 48-hour period for the release of political prisoners, activists and missing people from Balúchi who, according to the group, had been kidnapped by the military.
Considered a terrorist organization by the Pakistan government, BLA became known in 2000, after it claimed the authorship of a series of attacks against the Pakistani authorities. In recent months, the Baluchistan liberation army has intensified its activities using new tactics to cause a high number of dead and injured and attack the military of Pakistan.
