Hugo Motta defends blue shirt from the Brazilian team, against red uniform
The president of the Chamber of Deputies, Hugo Motta (Republicans-PB), was opposed to the red shirt as a uniform of the Brazilian team, given the possible change that caused reactions between politicians. On social network, Motta published on Tuesday, 29, a photo wearing the number 2 uniform, blue, reinforcing his preference for color.
The controversy involving the color of the national team shirt started when the English website FOOTY HEADLINESspecializing in soccer club shirts, published that the second uniform of the Brazilian team in the 2026 World Cup would be red.
The change was criticized by parliamentarians linked to opposition, by the association of red color to the PT, party of President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, and on the left.

Deputy Zé Trovão (PL-SC) presented a bill (PL) on Tuesday to prevent the Brazilian team from wearing a red uniform. The parliamentarian is among the politicians who have publicly manifested against the possibility. The color is associated with leftist parties and chains. The PL aims to make the use of official colors of the national flag (green, yellow, blue and white) mandatory.
Case led the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) to speak out on Tuesday night, to say that the color of the number 2 uniform has not yet been defined.
