Hugo Motta minimizes tension on the presidency of Eduardo Bolsonaro in committee
The president of the Chamber of Deputies, Hugo Motta (Republicans), denied, on Tuesday (11), that there is a crisis involving the appointment of Deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP) to chair the Foreign Relations Commission and the Supreme Court (STF).
The mayor’s statement was a response to criticism made by PT leader in the House, Lindbergh Farias, who had raised concerns that the choice of former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL )’s son to command the commission could generate a disagreement with the Supreme Court.
Recently, Eduardo Bolsonaro was accused of promoting a “national betrayal” agenda, advocating external interventions in Brazil’s internal affairs. Among the targets of the action is Minister Alexandre de Moraes, sued in the United States for allegedly interfering with American sovereignty. The actions against the Brazilian magistrate were signed by the former president’s son.

Senator Senator will submit a request for impeachment from Gonet
“Brazil has seen harmful scenes of coercion against Mauro Cid, as well as leaked audios that reveal a prior articulation to incriminate political opponents,” said Girão
The PT has disputed with the PL the command of the commission. In conversations with allies, Lindbergh Farias said he would accept another PL name for the presidency, as long as it was not that of Eduardo Bolsonaro.
In an interview with journalists, Motta said he does not believe in a crisis with the Supreme Court, because the distribution of commissions between the parties “is already known to all”.
He pointed out that, according to an agreement signed in the management of Arthur Lira (PP-AL), former mayor, the presidency of the commissions is attributed according to the proportionality of the benches. Thus, the PL, with 93 deputies, is entitled to the 1st and 2nd choices.
“It’s a regimental usual. There is not much to do, what other parties do. Why? Because this is due to the size of each bench. So there’s nothing new. There is no way to interfere, there is no way to change this block, which is the block of the beginning of the legislature. It is not even the block that has been formed now for our election. We will comply, regimentally, what has to be fulfilled by us in this choice. It always has to be fulfilled, ”explained Motta.
The mayor also announced that he will “beat the hammer” about which party will be with each commission during the leaders meeting scheduled for Thursday (13).
