Hugo Motta says there is no forecast to guide amnesty or define rapporteur

The mayor, Hugo Motta (Republicans-PB), said on Tuesday that there is no forecast of advancement for the bill that amnesty involved in scammer acts and may benefit former President Jair Bolsonaro. The PL, Bolsonaro’s party, has the desire to define this week who will be the rapporteur of the text, but Motta stated that there is no such prediction.

– There is no forecast of either agenda or rapporteur – said the mayor after leaving the meeting that installed the special commission that analyzes the proposal of amendment to the Constitution (PEC) of public security.

Leaders meeting early on Tuesday has defined that the House will vote this week only consensus initiatives. Nevertheless, the opposition tries to get the amnesty to gain impetus from next week, when the trial of the coup plot, of which Bolsonaro is targeted, should have been completed. Asked if the amnesty can gain strength next week, Motta did not answer.

The project that exempts who earns up to $ 5,000 of income tax was also not included in this week’s voting forecast. Motta was not expected to vote on the text, but said he will be discussed again next week at the leadership meeting.

Among the initiatives that should be voted this week by the deputies is the provisional measure of the electricity sector, which enables conditions for the energy bill to be reduced.

The text of the electricity sector is one of the government’s priorities and is a popular measure to boost the reelection campaign of President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. The text has already been approved by the Joint Commission and is now under the House Analysis. As the measure loses its validity next week and still needs to be voted by the Senate, the government is trying to accelerate approval by the deputies.

The mayor stated that the MP should be voted on tomorrow and depends only on adjustments in the text made by the rapporteur, Deputy Fernando Coelho Filho (União-PE).

– Must stay for tomorrow. The rapporteur must make some text adjustments. Take some points that were out of agreement and be able to re -present the text without it. The agreement with the Senate is that it was only the fare and a question of the northern tariff fashion.

The initiative was cited by the Minister of Institutional Relations, Gleisi Hoffmann, among government priorities. The petista gathered yesterday ministers of Centrão to demand commitment against amnesty and make them convince their parties to focus on the demands of the Planalto Palace.
