In fifth exchange after agreement, Hamas releases three more Israeli hostages

Three more Israeli hostages were released by Hamas this Saturday (8). This was the fifth exchange for Palestinian prisoners in the first phase of the ceasefire agreement.

What happened

Ohad Ben Ami, Eli Sharabi and Or Levy were delivered to the Red Cross. The first two had been held hostages at Kibbutz Be’eri during the Hamas Transfronho attack on October 7, 2023. Or Levy was kidnapped that same day at the New Music Festival.

Israel should free 183 Palestinians in exchange for these hostages later this Saturday. This total includes 18 Palestinians who fulfill perpetual imprisonment penalties, 54 who fulfill long penalties and 111 who were arrested in the Gaza Strip during the war.
