In Pane, plane with mayor of João Pessoa makes emergency landing
A small plane carrying the mayor of João Pessoa (PB), Cicero Lucena (without party), suffered a technical breakdown on Saturday morning, and the pilot had to make an emergency landing in the interior of the state. The politician stated, through social networks, that he passed through the rural area of Alagoa Grande, in Brejo da Paraíba, when the aircraft began to lose power.
A photo shared by Lucena on Instagram (see below) shows the PT-Non prefix aircraft, lying on a pasture area. Despite what the mayor called “great fright”, no one was injured.
“We just had a big scare. He was returning from Sousa, on a plane, and suddenly was losing the plane power. We had no alternative to close landing, and there was no time for that. At Fazenda St. Joseph, we found a space that was being cut the grass for silage and we could land with all in peace, no one injured, only material damage, the plane,” Cicero Lucena, in video after landing.
The aircraft suffered a crash when Cicero Luna was returning to the capital of Paraíba from a trip to the municipality of Sousa, where he fulfilled an agenda as part of articulations for his pre-application to the State Government in 2026.
According to the G1, advisers Kauê Braga and Dudu Lins were on board, and pilot Carlos Duarte. After the emergency landing, the group used a tractor to follow a forest area to a main road in the region.
The small plane was in normal aircraft and registered for private air services, according to data from the National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac). In a statement, the Brazilian Air Force (FAB), through the Center for Aeronautical Accident Investigation and Prevention (Cenipa), said that the collection of information and data of the occurrence, which will be investigated.
