Waller stated that all harmed will be reimbursed, provided there is no evidence that discounts have been properly authorized. From next week, retirees and pensioners will be able to consult directly:

  • Which association was responsible for the discount;
  • What is the total amount charged.

If the citizen identifies that the collection has not been authorized, it may confirm that it is a fraud – without the need to attach documents or vouchers. The system will then automatically generate a charge to the association involved.

The press conference was attended by ministers Jorge Messias (Attorney General of the Union), Vinicius Marques de Carvalho (Comptroller General of the Union), Wolney Queiroz (Social Security), besides Waller himself.

Minister Wolney Queiroz stated that President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT) determined that the government will “go to the last consequences” in the determination of fraud and the responsibility of the culprits.

“President Lula ordered me to take care of our retirees so that no INSS insured would be at the injury,” said the minister.

The fraud scheme was revealed by the Operation without a discount, triggered by the Federal Police and CGU at the end of April. According to investigations, associations and unions registered retirees without consent and discounted values directly from the payroll of the INSS, often using false signatures. The estimated loss reaches R $ 6.3 billion between 2019 and 2024.
