Tehran has accused the agency of acting “politically motivated” in favor of western and Israeli interests. “The AIEA refused to condemn the attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities and put in play its international credibility,” said Qalibaf.

By approving the resolution, Qalibaf stressed that the country intends to accelerate its nuclear program. The text still needs to be sanctioned by the Guardian Council of Iran and only then come into force.

UN did not comment on the decision of the Iranian Parliament. However, AIEA Director Rafale Grossi said he seeks measures to oversee the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program to understand the real damage caused in these two weeks of war – Iran claims that it maintains its nuclear program, while Israel claims to have delayed the country’s claims to produce atomic bomb.

The AIEA is responsible for overseeing the nuclear programs of the signatory countries of the Nuclear Non -Proliferation Treaty. Iran is a member of the treaty, but Israel is not – the Jewish state does not allow the UN or any international agency to supervise its nuclear arsenal.

Shortly before Israel attacked Iran, the UN agency accused the Persian country of not fulfilling its obligations of nuclear non -proliferation. The Islamic Republic vehemently denies having atomic bomb and claims that it enriches uranium after for civil purposes.

West, however, says that Iran enriches uranium at 60%or more, well above the index required for civil purposes. Under this pretext, Tel Aviv bombarded the Iranian plants in an attempt to destroy Tehran’s nuclear program. Days later, the US also bombarded the complexes of Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan, but the UN believes the Iranian government has managed to preserve its nuclear material.
