Isolated, Netanyahu goes to the UN while intensifying attacks on Gaza
Tanks entered the city of Gaza as part of an offensive that, according to Israel, aims to eliminate Hamas after his deadly attack on Israel in October 2023, but caused great destruction, a humanitarian catastrophe and widespread hunger.
Netanyahu says the city of Gaza is the last bastion of the Palestinian militant group, but hundreds of thousands of civilians remain there, fearing there are no safe place for them to go.
The US envoy Steve Witkoff said on Wednesday that Washington was confident of securing a breakthrough in Gaza in the coming days, after Trump shared a 21-point peace plan for the Middle East with leaders from Most countries in New York.
Trump also promised Arab leaders that he would not allow Israel to attach Israel’s somanic, the politician said. Palestinians want West Bank for an independent Palestinian state with Gaza and East Jerusalem.
Netanyahu stated that there will never be a Palestinian state, although the United Kingdom, France, Canada and other nations formally recognized this week the condition of Palestinian state. Some of the allies of the Netanyahu coalition want Israel to attach to West Bank.
Netanyahu will speak on the UN and meet with Trump
Israel was diplomatically isolated because of its military siege of Gaza, with European nations and others increasingly critical of its conduct.
