Israel hits Syrian air bases, destroying dozens of helicopters and planes
Israeli planes bombed at least three major Syrian army air bases housing dozens of helicopters and jets, in the biggest wave of attacks on air bases since Bashar al-Assad was toppled, two Syrian security sources said.
The Qamishli air base in northeastern Syria, the Shinshar base in rural Homs and the Aqrba airport southwest of the capital Damascus were all hit, the sources said.
Several attacks were also carried out on a research center on the outskirts of Damascus and an electronic warfare center near the Sayeda Zainab area of the capital.
