Israeli Defense Minister says Israel defeated Hezbollah

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said on Sunday that his country defeated Hezbollah and that the elimination of its leader Hassan Nasrallah was the greatest achievement.

“Now it is our job to continue to press for the fruits of this victory to come to fruition,” Katz said during a ceremony at the Israeli Foreign Ministry.

Katz said Israel is not interested in meddling in Lebanese domestic politics as Israel has “learned our lessons,” but he hopes that an international coalition will capitalize on this opportunity politically and that Lebanon will join other countries in normalizing relations with Israel.
