At the age of 82, musician Brian Wilson, founder, leader and main composer of the Beach Boys, one of the most popular American pop music bands in the United States in the 1960s.
The announcement was made by the family post on Instagram, without information about where, when or the cause of death.
Diagnosed with a “severe neurocognitive disorder,” Wilson was under the curatella of his commercial representatives since the death of his wife, Melinda, in 2024.
During the peak, from 1962 to 1966, the group had 13 US Top 10 songs, including three that reached first place: ‘I Get Around’, ‘Help Me, Rhonda’ and ‘Good Vibrations’.
Also from 1966, the album ‘Pet Sounds’, elected twice as the second best album in history by the American magazine Rolling Stones, focused on covering popular music in English.
