Jair Renan Bolsonaro closes an agreement of $ 409,000 to pay off debt with bank
Councilman Jair Renan Bolsonaro (PL-SC), the son of former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL), closed an agreement with Banco Santander to pay off a debt regarding a loan contracted in 2023. By the arrangement, he pledged to pay $ 409,000 in sight to end the lawsuit filed by the bank. The information was revealed by UOL and confirmed by Infomoney.
The debt originated in a financing of R $ 291 thousand taken by RB Eventos e Media, Jair Renan’s company, in June 2023. The contract provided for 60 installments of R $ 8,665, with annual interest of 27.66%. However, the installments were no longer paid and, in December of the same year, Santander fired the court to charge $ 360,000. With interest and charges, the debt reached R $ 433 thousand before the agreement.
The hit was closed last Thursday (29), and the bank accepted a reduced payment “by mere liberality”. There was a discount of approximately $ 24,000 about the total debt. The amount should have been paid on Friday (28), but there is still no confirmation if the discharge has been made. Otherwise, the process will continue in court.

This is not the first time Jair Renan has faced financial difficulties. In August 2023, the court blocked R $ 16,000 of its bank accounts to cover debts. The company RB Eventos e Media has already been downloaded by the IRS.
In addition to bank problems, Jair Renan responds to a process laundering and falsification of documents, filed by the Public Prosecution Service in 2024. According to the complaint, he would have falsified information about revenues from RB Eventos to obtain three bank loans by 2022 and 2023, including the $ 291,000 contract with Santander. He and his lawyer, Maciel Carvalho, became defendants in the action.
