In his last appeal, Trump argued that the decision of the US Supreme Court of July 2024, which granted him substantial criminal immunity, protected him from responsibility in the civil case of Carroll.

He also said that he had talked about Carroll in 2019 in his ability as president, and stopping immunity could impair the independence of the executive branch.

Trump also said that US district judge Lewis Kaplan, who supervised the two judgments, made other mistakes, including excluding his testimony that when talking about Carroll, “I just wanted to defend myself, my family and, frankly, the presidency.”

In June, Carroll launched another memories book, “Not My Type: One Woman Vs. A President” (not my type: a woman against a president, in free translation) about her legal battles against Trump.
