Lego executive dies in ski accident in Switzerland

Kirkbi vice president (LEGO group holding), 64-year-old Michael Halbye died last Saturday after having an accident while skiing in Switzerland.

What happened

Halbye skie in the Verbier region of the Swiss Alps. He suffered a fall after leaving the main track, was rescued by helicopter and taken to the hospital, but could not resist. The executive died as a result of internal bleeding.

He had been on the Kirkbi Administrative Council since 2020 and was appointed vice president of the company in 2022. Kirkbi President Thomas Kirk Kristansen lamented the death of his colleague, who was close: “We will miss Michael as vice president, but, above all, as a human being. May his memory be honored.”
