Lindbergh rebates Bradesco President on Magnitsky Law: “We are not a colony”

STF sets public hearing on “uberization” for December 9

Federal Deputy Lindbergh Farias, PT leader in the House, answered, on Saturday (2), a statement by Bradesco President Marcelo Noronha on the application of the magnitsky law against STF Minister Alexandre de Moraes. After the executive said that “law is not discussed, it is fulfilled” in an interview with Exame, Farias came to the public: “Mr. Marcelo Noronha has to comply with national laws.”

In a video published on Instagram and X, Farias stated that “here we have a Federal Constitution. Article 1, item I, speaks of national sovereignty” and that “we are not a colony, we will not accept a blackmail against our institutions, against the STF.”

Lindbergh is the author of a precautionary action filed with the Supreme Court that wants to prevent banks operating in Brazil from applying the sanctions imposed by the United States government to Alexandre de Moraes.

In the action, the deputy asks that “no Brazilian financial institution executes, replies or gives material effectiveness” to the restriction provided for by magnitsky law. According to the petition, the fulfillment of the US government standard would be a “transfer of sovereignty incompatible with the Constitution.”

In the video published with criticism of Noronha, Lindbergh says that “this precautionary is only necessary because it was in the face that would appear the collaborationists who would want to act for fear or the mutt complex, as Nelson Rodrigues said.”
