Lula accompanies parade in Recife with mayor João Campos and governor Raquel Lyra
President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) follows the Galo da Madrugada parade, a traditional carnival event in Recife (PE), this Saturday morning, 14th. He is in the party box together with the mayor of the capital of Pernambuco, João Campos (PSB), and the state governor, Raquel Lyra (PSD). The forecast was that only Campos, who will run against Lyra in the state dispute this year, would appear together with the president.
Also present are Senator Teresa Leitão (PT), Minister of Ports and Airports Silvio Costa Filho (Republicans) and First Lady Janja Lula da Silva. The president greeted the singer Lenine, honored at Recife’s carnival this year, and waved to the public as he watched the electric trios pass by.
The president’s agenda for this carnival also includes commitments in Salvador and Rio de Janeiro. In the evening, the Chief Executive will be in Salvador (BA) to participate in the Campo Grande carnival circuit. The PT member will be in the box next to Governor Jerônimo Rodrigues (PT). Lula will leave for Rio de Janeiro tomorrow morning.
Opportunity with security!
In Rio, the PT member will have an agenda in the afternoon in the Jacarepaguá neighborhood. At night, he will be in a box to follow the parade of the Acadêmicos de Niterói samba school, whose samba-plot pays homage to him. The president will not participate in the parade.
The return to Brasília is scheduled for Monday, 16th. The following day, the president travels to India, where he will stay until February 21st. Afterwards, he will take off for South Korea, where he will have schedules until the 24th.
