Lula: Brazil should grow above the global average and overcome projections of “pessimists”
President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said on Friday (6) that Brazil’s growth in the first quarter indicates that the country may surprise the world and expand above the world average, pointing to agriculture performance as a factor that will allow the economy to grow “a little more” by 2025.
Speaking during ceremony in Paris, Lula also stated that Brazilian growth this year will overcome the projections of “pessimists”.
Brazil’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew 1.4% in the first quarter compared to the previous three months, supported by the strongest performance of agriculture in two years and starting with force a year with moderation of activity ahead in the face of contractionist monetary policy.
