Lula calls “arbitrary” revocation of STF ministers visas by the USA

President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva called on Saturday (19) the revocation of visas of ministers of the Supreme Court by the United States government of “another arbitrary and completely unfounded measure” of the US government.

In an official note issued by the Planalto Palace, Lula expressed solidarity with the ministers affected by the revocation of visas, announced on Friday (18) by the US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

“The interference of one country in the justice system of another is unacceptable and hurts the basic principles of respect and sovereignty among nations,” he wrote.

“I am sure that no kind of intimidation or threat, of anyone, will compromise the most important mission of national powers and institutions, which is to act permanently in the defense and preservation of the Democratic Rule of Law,” he added.
