Lula congratulates Kast for victory in Chile and promises to work to strengthen ties

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) “greeted” conservative candidate José Antonio Kast for his victory in Chile’s presidential elections this Sunday (14).

In a publication in X, Lula also congratulated the Chilean people for “participation in a democratic, transparent and orderly electoral process”.

“I wish the president-elect every success in carrying out his future term,” he wrote.

The PT member also promised to work with the new Chilean government to strengthen the “excellent” bilateral relations, the “solid” economic and commercial ties, regional integration and the “maintenance of South America as a zone of peace”.
