Lula: Every time it speaks of austerity, poor gets poorer and rich gets richer

(Reuters)-President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said on Friday that the economic model of austerity did not work in any country in the world, adding that whenever it speaks in him, “the poor gets poorest and the rich is richer.”
“The austerity model did not work in any country in the world,” Lula said at the Annual Meeting of the Novo Development Bank (NDB) – The Bank of Brics – in Rio de Janeiro.

“The so -called austerity required by financial institutions has led countries to become poorer. Because every time austerity is spoken, the poor gets poorer and the rich man gets richer,” he added.
Lula also criticized the lack of climate financing money that has been promised by developed countries.
