Lula returns to hospital after domestic accident and remains symptom-free

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) returned to Hospital Sírio-Libanês this Sunday, 3rd, to carry out new imaging tests, continuing the follow-up started after the domestic accident that occurred two weeks ago at Palácio da Alvorada. According to the medical report, Lula is asymptomatic and his condition is stable.

“He remains symptom-free and the exam shows stability in relation to the previous ones, and he should continue his usual activities. A new assessment will take place in a week, with only clinical monitoring continuing”, says the medical bulletin released at 10:30 am this Sunday. The president will remain under the care of the medical team led by doctors Roberto Kalil Filho and Ana Helena Germoglio.

On the 20th of last month, Lula suffered a domestic accident that resulted in a head injury. As Estadão showed, the president was cutting his toenails in the bathroom and, when he leaned forward, the bench he was sitting on slipped and he hit the back of his head on the bathtub behind him. Lula was immediately taken to the hospital due to bleeding and received five stitches, which were removed on the 28th.

Following medical advice, he canceled a scheduled trip to Kazan, Russia, to participate in the 16th BRICS Summit, in addition to other scheduled commitments.
